Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining satellite communication systems and related equipment for our clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with technical installations, an understanding of satellite systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. You will be expected to work in various environments, ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process that meets customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain satellite communication systems and equipment at client locations.
- Configure and program satellite devices, routers, and modems to ensure proper operation.
- Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements, including signal strength and positioning of satellite dishes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with equipment, providing on-site repair when necessary.
- Collaborate with customers to explain installation processes, system operations, and maintenance best practices.
- Ensure installations comply with safety standards and company guidelines.
- Provide technical support to clients post-installation to resolve any issues that arise.
- Maintain detailed records of all installation activities, including equipment used and services provided.
- Work closely with the technical support and sales teams to ensure that customer needs are met effectively.
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends to offer the best possible solutions to clients.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical or vocational qualification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a technical installer, preferably in satellite communications or telecommunications.
- Experience with the installation of satellite dishes, antennas, modems, and related equipment is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of satellite systems, telecommunications, and networking.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and installation instructions.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for installations, such as signal meters, drills, and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple installations efficiently.
- Physical ability to work in challenging environments, such as rooftops or elevated platforms.
- Basic understanding of networking and IP configurations is an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on customer needs.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools as needed for installations.
- Certifications in satellite installation or networking (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus.
